Things here are different now which is because of a new horse living with us. His name is Chip and he is a horse rescued by SAFE. Chip was one of the poor, poor horses that lived on a farm where there were 39 horses living and 39 horses was too many horses for that farm! Chip and his friends lived in stalls and didn’t get to go outside and their stalls were all filled with poo. This is a terrible thing for a horse to endure! Horses like to go outside to run and play and be with their friends in the sun and the fresh air. Living inside all the time is so terrible that I don’t even want to think about it.

Chip and his friends got rescued by Animal Control, do you know that thing? Animal Control is people who will punish you if you are cruel to animals and take the animals to a better place where they don’t have to be suffering anymore. Animal Control has places to take dogs and cats, but they don’t always have places to take horses so that is why SAFE is there. SAFE took Chip and 3 of his friends from Animal Control, which is why Chip is now at my house. Chip used to be a thing called a Stallion which is used to make more horses. I do not understand why a person who has 39 horses locked in stalls filled with poo needs to make any more horses, so this makes me very, very sad to think about.

Now Chip is a gelding like me, but he doesn’t know very much about being a gelding, so my friends and I have to teach him everything just like he was a baby horse. SAFE has a wonderful trainer lady called Brittney, but now me and Jay and the Big Baby are trainers too, for Chip! Chip may have been a big, bad Stallion in his old life, but now he is a rather small gelding who is no match for the three of us. Mom feels sorry for Chip because she thinks we are mean to him, but she does not understand how to be a gelding either! Right now we are teaching Chip a thing called Respect, and I know that you know that thing! Chip is a very good student and he seems to understand Respect too, but we have to keep teaching him that in case he forgets. I know that Mom will be happier when we start to teach him about Friends, but the time for that is not yet here.

Mom is also worried because she knows that Animal Control has many, many horses that they need to find places for, and SAFE is full! She wishes that more people would come to SAFE and adopt its finished horses so that there would be room for the ones that need SAFE very badly. I told her that I would talk to my Internet friends and see if any of them have room in their homes and hearts for a SAFE horse, so that is what I am doing right now. SAFE has many, many wonderful horses that need good homes! These horses are all healthy and round, and SAFE has spent a lot of time getting to know them and teaching them how to be good horses. Many of these horses know how to carry peoples on their backs but some of them can’t and those horses need good homes too! If you have a farm that has room for just one more horse, why not give an always and forever home to a SAFE horse? Everyone can win then because the SAFE horse will have its own home and person, and then SAFE can go help another pointy, sad horse become round and healthy! Please do this if you can, it would be such a good thing.
