Hello friends, happy 2012 to all of you!
The New Year is like one of my paintings before I paint it: it’s square and white and empty. A square, white, empty painting is a thing called a Canvas, do you know this thing? The New Year is a Canvas that you can paint any picture you want on it. You can paint a sad picture, like an empty grain bowl, or a happy picture, like a big pile of soft, green hays. You get to decide what to paint!
(Sometimes a square, white, empty painting is a thing called Modern Art, which some peoples claim to understand but really no one does. The New Year can sometimes be Modern Art, but let’s hope not because that makes things very confusing.)
There is a human thing called Resolution, do you know this thing? Resolution is when you say to yourself “Oh Self! I’m going to paint the most wonderful painting my nose has ever made!” And you work very hard to paint that painting every single day. That is what is called Resolution.
This year I think I would like to have Resolution. My Resolution is a picture of a Pointy Horse who has been changed into a beautiful, happy, Round Horse. My Resolution says NO MORE POINTY HORSES!
Now comes the hard work to make my Resolution come true. The first thing I need to do is to convince many peoples to help me by joining the Honeycutt Nation and making a monthly donation of dollars. It does not have to be many dollars…even ten dollars per month is enough IF we have enough friends who decide to help.
Think about ten dollars for a minute…that is not very many dollars. If you took all the dollars you use in one month, and then you took ten of those dollars and gave them to horses, you would still have many many dollars, right? But think about how happy those ten dollars will make you feel when you see us turning Pointy Horses into Round Horses! You will get way more than ten Happy and I bet you won’t even remember what you would have used those ten dollars for. Do you see how much sense I am making?
So please, for the New Year, take a corner of your blank canvas and paint a smiling Round Horse on it by joining the Honeycutt Nation!
