Dreadful weather has me feeling like a not very happy horse today. Water is pouring from the sky, dripping down my forelock and into my eye. Everything is wet. We can’t play or even hear each other over the sound of pounding rain. All I can do is stand in my little house and think. Today my thoughts are grey and gloomy, so I’m not enjoying this thinking time like I normally do.

You are living in this wet world too, at least if you live anywhere near me, so maybe you could think about horses while you’re standing in your little house. You and I are lucky because we can get out of the rain and eat our hays and even though we think we feel miserable, we still have it pretty good, don’t we? There are horses that don’t have any little houses or hays and those are the horses that are truly miserable. My friends at SAFE think about those miserable horses a lot because they know that some of them will get very thin and pointy, which is not how a horse is supposed to be!

Can you help a pointy horse? Do you have a nice barn and many dollars for hays and tasty grain and the vet? If the answer is Oh Honeycutt! I don’t have those things! then don’t be sad because you can still help pointy horses! The way to help is to be with the peoples of SAFE and everyone helping pointy horses TOGETHER! Maybe you come out and scoop poos! Maybe you give a horse a ride to the vet! Or maybe…you give SAFE some dollars so you can be part of the healing process. Wouldn’t that be good? I know it would because I have raised dollars to help SAFE and it made me a very happy horse.

I know you care about pointy horses just like I do. Thank you for helping them be round like horses should be!
